What you’ll do:

• Perform detailed optical design & tolerancing of augmented reality display & test systems
• Generate component specifications & interface with suppliers
• Conduct advanced analysis of optical systems (e.g., straylight)
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on component mounting & system assembly
• Present to cross functional teams at design reviews
• Design, build, & validate lab setups for testing optical components & systems
• Complete root cause analysis of optical component & system failure mechanisms

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of sequential & non-sequential optical design software (e.g., Zemax, CODE V, LightTools)
• Knowledge of scientific programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW)
• Knowledge of Optical alignment & breadboarding
• Comfort with rapidly changing or ambiguous requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in optical engineering, physics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in optical engineering
• Experience with near-eye displays, micro-displays (e.g., LCoS, DLP, OLED), polarization, rapid prototyping.
